ARTIFACT:
1930's United States Air Corps pre-Crusher ??? "Flighter" model manufactured by Bancroft Uniform Headwear, Inc. in Massachusetts and named to USAAC Captain Joseph F. Stough. Visor is olive drab in color, constructed of wool fur felt, heavy canvas, leather, and gilt brass. The inside of the hat shows Bancroft maker mark and card naming the visor. Eagle insignia is large and much of the gilt brass details remain intact. The adjustable, leather chin strap is a dark chocolate brown, remains soft and supple, and is attached to visor with gilt brass buttons.

Approximately 22" inside circumference, 7" ear to ear; 8 1/8" front to back

Wool felt, leather, brass, plastic liner, card stock.

8+ (Excellent): Visor shows light to moderate wear, very tiny moth nip, leather remains soft and supple, nearly all the gilt details remain fully intact with only light areas of tarnish/oxidation,
