ARTIFACT: This is a 1930s distinctive insignia for the United States Army 241st Coast Artillery Regiment. The 241st operated under the Boston Harbor Defense Command at Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Massachusetts. The DI shows a white diamond and a falcon, with the old device of the Roxbury Artillery as its canton, and reads VIGILANTIA (vigilance).

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing, two stabilization teeth.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: The DI you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI shows only some light wear and tarnish.
