ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930-1931 United States Army 1st Infantry Division Leadership award medal made by Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The 1st Infantry Division, or the "Big Red One", was organized in 1917 and has been in continuous service since then, making it the oldest division in the United States Army. The medal shows a wreathed shield bearing a "1". Below the medal hang two bars, each one marked on reverse with its respective year.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930-1931.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Copper-plated.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO; 1930; 1931.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The medal has some light wear and some very minor spots of oxidation only.
