ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1920s Irish Republican Army enlisted man hat insignia. This insignia is from around the Irish Civil War period, and bears an "FF" at center for "Fianna F‡il" (Warriors of F‡l, or Warriors of Ireland). The insignia is a starburst with a garter belt at center bearing the words îglaigh na hƒireann (also a way to say "Warriors of Ireland").
VINTAGE:
Circa 1920s.
SIZE:
About 1-9/16" in width by 1-9/16" in height.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Stamped brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Two loops, cotter pin.

7- (Very Fine-): The insignia has some minor wear and moderate corrosion; loops have been compressed making it difficult to remove the pin.
