ARTIFACT:
1920's - 1930's Portsmouth, New Hampshire fire department badge in silver plated nickel. The center shows a fireman's helmet, hook, hose, ladder, and horn in raised detail and surrounding it reads: "PORTSMOUTH FIRE DEPT. N. H." in black painted detail and the top of the badge features an eagle with wings spread and a bowed head. The reverse shows a maker's mark that reads: "C. D. REESE 57 WARREN ST. NEW YORK" and the catch is missing.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1920's - 1930's.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-3/8" in height x 1-1/2" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silver plated nickel, black paint.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical kick pin, 'C' catch is missing.
MARKINGS:

CONDITION:
7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows moderate to heavy surface wear mostly to high points, catch is missing, some of the plating and painted details remain intact.
