ARTIFACT: This is a numbered 1899 United States Army Philippine Insurrection campaign medal issued to Private Charles A. Wehrlen, Company B, 12th Infantry, New York National Guard (NYNG). Wehrlen was a SGT in B, NY 12th, and was also entitled to Spanish Campaign Medal & Cuban Occupation Medal (not included with this item). He re-enlisted for the Philippines as a SGT. He was from New York City. The medal is numbered 18970 on the edge.

VINTAGE: Circa 1899.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" in height and 1-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze, silk, brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin on bar (catch is missing), ribbon, suspension ring.

MARKINGS: No. 18970 on edge.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Philippine Insurrection medal collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJX14 LBDEX3/14 SBJJX6/17

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The medal has only some light wear.
