ARTIFACT: This is an 1889 dated Malden Rifles, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia (MVM) marksmanship silver, or second place, medal award. Hanging from a bar is a rectangular plate with a bull's-eye target at its center. The reverse of the medal is engraved with the award date.

VINTAGE: Circa 1889.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in height by 1" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Coin silver.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal T-pin on bar with C catch, chain links.

MARKINGS: DEC. 7 '89.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a 19th century United States Army medal collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX02 LADEX4/14 SADEX12/06/23

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The medal has some moderate wear/tarnish and light oxidation on the catch.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
