ARTIFACT: Great, 1880's - 1890's, Old West "Stock" Police five point star badge. The stamped nickel badge reads: "POLICE" in black detail with nice stamped embellishments above and below. This example has a great, old west look.
These badges came out of an old collection put together by a collector from Kansas, now deceased. As the bulk of his collection was Kansas and Colorado, it can be safely assumed that these badges were indeed worn in the Old West of their particular vintage, although I do not know exactly where any were used or collected. VINTAGE: Circa 1880's – 1890's

SIZE: Approximately 2" x 2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel plated brass, paint

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety style pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old western police and lawman enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJX15 LEGEX12/15 SEGEX12/15

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge shows minor to moderate surface wear, some of the plating and painted details remain intact, overall very fine condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
