ARTIFACT: This is a 1870s-1880s Greenwich, Connecticut Town Constable badge worn by James J. Nedley (1858-1930), 2nd Policeman in 1897 and appointed chief 1922-1930.

VINTAGE: Circa 1870s-1880s.

SIZE: About 2-3/4" in width by 3-1/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with black painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with a "C" catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Minor wear and tarnishing; most of paint in lettering has worn away.
