ARTIFACT: This is a oversized World War II history of the United States Army Air Forces 514th Fighter Squadron of the 9th Air Force. The 514th was at the D-Day landing, and was the last squadron of the 303rd Fighter Wing out of Ashford Airfield to be deployed. This history has several great photographs, particularly of nose art, as well as some group shots. There is also a roster and photos of decoration recipients. We have a WWII 514th squadron patch with the Uncle-Sam hat-wearing bomb in the boxing ring for sale separately (please see link at the bottom of the page for more information).

VINTAGE: Published circa 1945.

SIZE: 49 pages; approximately 8" in height and 13-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: Design and Art by Sam Mickwee – Narrations by Theodore E. Wegerski.

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): The booklet has almost total separation inside at the spine but is currently still holding together, except for the first page (separated but still present).
