ARTIFACT:
This is a rare WWII unit history of the United States Army Air Forces 306th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force: "First Over Germany" by Arthur P. Bove. This volume has an inscription by the author to Carmen Perotti, a member of the bomb group. The 306th is known for dropping the first bombs on German soil, at Wilhelmshaven. The title page shows the squadron insignia of the 367th, 368th, 369th and 423rd Bomb Squadrons, which made up the 306th Bomb Group, along with the 414th ASG (Air Support Group). There are several black and white photos throughout the book and some very cool illustrations of group members, as well as a mission breakdown. The book was published by the Newsfoto Publishing Company of San Angelo, Texas.

This is from a WWII United States Army Air Forces unit history collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBJGX14 LDFEX6/14 SDFEX7/167 (Very Fine): The book has moderate wear to the cover edges and used to be a library book, so it has some writing in the front endpaper and a library card holder attached.
