ARTIFACT: This is a rare World War I Imperial German aviator flight helmet. The helmet is leather and adorned with a scarlet red streamer. There is also a pair of World War I flight goggles (pictured above with helmet) for sale as a separate item. Please see the link at the bottom of this page for listing information.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Helmet: approximate size medium.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Leather, wool lining, silk, metal grommets, buckle, snap.

ATTACHMENT: Chin strap with buckle and snap (snap part of the chin strap has been replaced).

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an Imperial Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-JMB-50-BCJX11 LGHEX2/12 SFJJX10/13

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The helmet is in very good, supple condition with some light abrasions and only a few small starts of tears in the leather (about 1/8" long each); the lining is lightly worn at the neck; the silk streamer has several long tears in it. The snap part of the chin strap has been replaced.
