ARTIFACT:
Scarce 1930's ??? WWII United States Coast Guard Chief Boatswain (Chief Warrant Officer) shoulder boards. The boards show bullion embroidered crossed anchors and a US Shield that depicts thirteen raised stars. Below is bullion ribbon embroidery that features a section of blue silk in the center. A gilt brass button shows an eagle carrying an anchor with a wreath below in nicely raised detail.

Bullion embroidered wool felt, bullion embroidered ribbon, silk thread, gilt brass, leather, silk, paperboard

Leather tabs, bottom of button rivet missing

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The shoulder boards show minor to moderate wear, bottom of button rivets are missing, nearly all the bullion and gilt brass details remain intact, leather is soft and shows pin holes (possibly from repeated attachment to uniform), a couple small areas of verdigris, overall very fine condition.
