ARTIFACT:
This is a stunning six patch silk scarf for the United States 11th Bomb Squadron, 51st Fighter Group, 14th Air Force from the CBI theatre. The scarf is in ivory silk with a subtle all-over bamboo pattern and is finished in a red, white and blue fringe. At one end of the scarf is a great blue and purple 14th Air Force "flying tiger" patch dated 1944 and a "Sky Dragon" patch with the name CHAS. W. HENLEY embroidered beneath. The other end has four patches dated 1942-1943: a Chinese sun, an 11th Bomb Squadron patch featuring the Monopoly man, a winged star and a CBI crest patch.

Approximately 13-13/16" in width 55-1/2" in length (including fringe).

Silk with patches fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads and cotton/silk fringe.

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The scarf is in very nice condition with some small spots of discoloration near the fringe on one end and near the Flying Tiger patch on other end.
